NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's Laser and Electro-Optics
Branch objectives are the development of new concepts and
optical technologies for future generation lasers, optical
detectors, electro-optic instruments and systems for space
applications. Branch facilities include clean
rooms equipped with state-of-the-art optical instrumentation
for the construction of space qualified lasers and amplifier
systems. Other laboratories are dedicated to
research and development of solid-state lasers, optical
amplifier systems, and single-photon detector testing.
Two fully equipped laboratories are dedicated
for testing, reliability analysis, and space qualification
of diode laser arrays.
